During the last week, St.Quentin-La-Poterie held its "Accordéon Plein Pot" festival. Accordion (a "piano on suspenders") is a very popular instrument in France - even if the mass media doesn't mention it very often. Initiated in 2009, the festival is pretty unique: worldmusic, jazz, gipsy sounds. Five artists launched a "collaborative CD": listen to what they (indivually have to offer) by clicking onn their names: Corentin Coko, Gabrielle, Liz Cherhal, François Gaillard and Coline Malice.
Yesterday night was the occasion of closing concert: René Lacaille, from La Réunion (a remote French island in the Atlantic ocean, with a strong creole culture). Below, listen to René Lacaille explain his musical philosophy (in French).
